Finding “Secret Menu” Options Not On Tapingo

Looking to switch up your routine meal? This week I explored a couple of food spots on Rowan’s campus that aren’t featured on the Tapingo app, but still offer meal exchanges and accept Dining Dollars or Rowan Bucks.  Nicole pours creamer into her cup of Petes coffee

As campus expands to accommodate new Prof’s, so do the food places … and “Whoo” wouldn’t love that? (“Whoo RU” is the name of our mascot.) This semester, our food service vendor Gourmet Dining introduced the Prof community to Tapingo, an app for students to place their food orders, which has eliminated large crowds in the Marketplace. However, not all food spots are on the app, so if you’re on-the-go or more of a last minute person, you don’t have to worry about ordering ahead of time.

If you’re running late for your 8am (which most students do), I’d suggest stopping by Peet’s Coffee on the main floor of the Vanessa and her friend sitting at a table drinking a pink smoothieStudent Center. They now offer breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, and of course, their freshly brewed coffee. Express, located on the ground floor of the Student Center, has recently re-opened for lunch, and now offers chicken paninis, along with their original menu of wraps and sandwiches, which make perfect quick meals between classes. For a lighter meal, Shake’d Up is located in the Rec Center and offers a wide variety of smoothies, so grabbing a smoothie between your workout and class is helpful. All three of these places are a “secret menu” of sorts, not on Tapingo, but available for students to walk in to grab-and-go!

Check these places out if you’re short on time or want a quick and yummy meal!
