Just a five minute drive from campus, Alaura’s Candy Co. is the perfect place to take your Valentine if they have a sweet tooth. They have a variety of homemade ice cream and a small bites menu. I mean what’s Valentine’s Day without sweets anyways?
2. Edelman Planetarium
Looking for an experience like no other? Lucky for us, you can find that right on Rowan’s campus. Edelman Planetarium offers live stargazing and a 360-degree video of our digital sky that’s sure to blow your date away. In fact, on Valentine’s Day Weekend the planetarium is offering the show “Romance Under the Stars.” Hear the stories of love found in the night sky and visit some of the universe’s most breathtaking scenery. 3. Primitive Axe – Axe Throwing
Does your Valentine have a bit of a competitive side? Well, Primitive Axe, Axe Throwing is the perfect place to take your Valentine on Valentine’s Day. Throwing Axes is certainly not the cookie cutter way to spend this special day and will definitely provide your date an experience they are sure to never forget.
4. Washington Township Lake Park
Does your Valentine have a love for the outdoors? Well, grab a blanket, some take out food and enjoy the beautiful greenery Washington Township Lake Park has to offer. Have a picnic, take a stroll and have a relaxing Valentine’s Day among nature.
5. LaScala’s Fire
Looking for a modern restaurant to take your Valentine? Located right on Rowan Boulevard, LaScala’s Fire is the perfect local eatery to spend your evening. LaScala’s Fire provides an intimate atmosphere and delicious Italian food. (We suggest ordering the whipped ricotta board!)

Looking to go a bit of a different route to woo your Valentine? One may not automatically think of an escape room as a Valentine’s Day destination, but it could be just the kind of place that will blow your date away! Lucky for us, Exit 4 Private Escape Room is located right on Rowan Boulevard. Exit 4 will provide a riveting experience that can allow you and your Valentine to bond in a way like no other!
7. Penn’s Landing
Looking to take your Valentine out on the town? Right over the Ben Franklin Bridge, you can find the beautiful Penn’s Landing. Penn’s Landing offers a variety of restaurants, parks and waterfront views. You and your Valentine are sure to have plenty of activities to choose from.
8. Wonderspaces
Looking to give your Valentine an unforgettable experience with incredible art? I highly suggest taking a trip to the Wonderspaces exhibit in Philadelphia. The displays are unique, interactive and sure to blow your Valentine away. Don’t forget to take a few pics for the ‘gram!
