Today’s #PROFspective features Caroline Lippincott, a senior majoring in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Columbus, NJ (Burlington County). Caroline, a first-generation college student who lives off campus, transferred to Rowan from Stockton University.
How have you gotten involved on campus?
I’m proudly a part of organizations such as Theta Phi Alpha and Inter Greek Council (IGC).
Describe your typical day on campus at Rowan.
After waking up I would usually pick up my friends to go get breakfast at Ry’s or somewhere near Rowan Blvd. After that we would go to the Student Center for a fundraising/philanthropy event for the sorority. Next we would go to class in James Hall because most of my friends were either nutrition majors or education majors.
When classes ended it was usually around dinner so we would go to the Phi Kap house to make dinner with the boys in the fraternity, hang out and do homework with them until it was time to get ready for a mixer or sorority event we had going on.
Describe for us a moment when you felt that Rowan was a good fit for you.
A moment that made Rowan feel like the right fit for me was the first semester I lived in Glassboro, which was my second semester at Rowan. I made so many friends like my roommates, the guys in Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, and the wonderful women of Theta Phi Alpha. I felt so at home at Rowan and I knew after my first semester living in Glassboro, that it was the right fit for me!
What inspired you to choose your major?
I chose my major because I grew up going to nutritionists my entire life. They helped me so much when I was younger and I wanted to be able to give back to kids like myself. I was also interested in nutrition while I was at Stockton, but they did not have a program, which is one of the reasons I transferred.
