What is Rowan Boulevard?

If you’re searching for a place to grab a bite or somewhere to go with friends, look no further than Glassboro’s historic downtown area at Rowan University, Rowan Boulevard.

Rowan Boulevard is a one-third mile strip built for students and Glassboro residents in an effort to reinvent the downtown area. In 2000, visions for Rowan Boulevard began, but it wasn’t until 2008 that construction really launched.

Rowan Boulevard features local and familiar restaurants, entertainment and shopping along with on-campus housing and academic buildings. At Rowan’s Barnes and Noble bookstore, you can shop merchandise, pick up textbooks, or even grab a coffee from the Starbucks cafe.

What’s so great about Rowan Boulevard is that it’s pedestrian friendly. On-campus students have a convenient place to go when they want to escape their residence halls but don’t want to go too far. Rowan Boulevard also features garages with two-hour free parking for students who commute to campus and need a place to park.

At the end of the Boulevard you’ll find the town square, a great outdoor study space and home to many community events and celebrations, concerts, festivals and shows. It’s also a great spot to sit around on sunny days.
