Picture of Business Hall.

Today we feature incoming first year students Hunter Sharp (she/her) and Jake Larocca. Hunter is from Cherry Hill, NJ (Camden County) and will be commuting to campus as an Accounting major in the Rohrer College of Business. Jake is from Brick, NJ (Ocean County) and will be living on campus as an aspiring business major.

Welcome to Rowan! Could you share with us one thing you are looking forward to in college?

Hunter: As an incoming freshman, I personally am looking forward to new experiences. Whether that’s meeting new people or going through a whole new academic environment, I am really excited to start this next chapter of my life and a newfound freedom.

Jake: New friends, learning about myself.

What clubs, intramural sports, student activities, etc. are you most looking forward to at Rowan?

Hunter: I haven’t been able to get much information about the different clubs or activities throughout Rowan; however I am looking forward to seeing what there is to offer, and even potentially getting a position in Rowan After Hours and attending events.

Jake: Football, snowboarding and skateboarding.

Please share a few likes or interests that you have!

Hunter: I really enjoy listening to music, dancing (fun fact, I am a Polynesian dancer!), watching different kinds of TV shows, and sometimes drawing.

Jake: All sports, making money, and bettering myself.

Do you have advice for other high school seniors who haven’t committed to a school yet?

Hunter: Take your time! It may feel like you are rushed to choose a school, but there is still plenty of time to look at your options and see which one fits best for you personally.

Jake: Check it out, make sure they have good food.

What is one thing about Rowan itself that you liked that encouraged you to enroll?

Hunter: I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Rowan, everyone was really nice and helpful when I went to the open house (and the campus was nice too!)

Jake: The campus and business program.
