Today we feature first-generation college senior Harmanjot Kahlon, a Marketing major from Florence, NJ (Burlington County). Harmanjot is a transfer student from Rowan College at Burlington County. She tells us about her time here at Rowan.

Tell us a little bit about your favorite class at Rowan so far.

My favorite class at Rowan was International Marketing. Since my major is marketing I found it very interesting to learn about international business.

Could you share with us one moment during your time at Rowan that made you feel inspired or confident that you’re in the right field for you?

This fall semester when I took most classes related to my major. One of my favorite classes was International Marketing and after learning a lot about business I felt that I am on a right path. This is what I want to do in future.

What has been one aspect of Rowan that you’ve enjoyed so far?

I really like the study rooms. I would go to campus 2-3 hours early because I found the study rooms to be very quiet and peaceful and I could really pay attention to what I was studying.

Why continue with your education this year instead of taking a gap year?

I want to finish my degree and since Rowan has a really good class schedule I can take classes at my desired time and still have a job at the same time. That’s why I did not think about skipping a year. Rowan offers so many different kind of scheduling, fully virtual, etc., so you can study on your own time. It’s very easy to keep a full-time job and still get your degree.

What are your professional goals? And how is Rowan helping to support you in those goals?

I want to get into digital marketing. Rowan has very good courses, which are very informative and interesting. All the professors I have taken so far have been the best and very helpful.
